What Happens During a Gluta IV Session

  • A female doctor with a stethoscope talking to a female patient in an office.

    1. Consult & Assessment

We examine your tattoo (colour, size, age), skin type and medical history, then discuss realistic expectations.

  • A woman receiving a facial treatment while lying on a spa bed with her eyes closed, wearing a headband. A skincare professional wearing gloves applies cream or mask to her face. The room has neutral decor with a vase of dried flowers in the background.

    2. Patch Test (First Visit)

A small test shot is done to check your skin and ink response and fine-tune laser settings.

  • A woman receiving a facial treatment from a spa professional in a skincare clinic.

    3. Numbing & Protection

Topical numbing (if needed) is applied and both you and the therapist wear protective eyewear.

  • A woman receiving a facial treatment with a handheld device from an esthetician in a spa or skincare clinic.

    4. Laser Session

Quick pulses of laser light pass over the tattoo, breaking ink into tiny particles for your body to clear.

  • A woman smiling, sitting on a beige couch in a neutral-toned room, wearing a light-colored robe.

    5. Cooling & Aftercare

We soothe the area, apply ointment, and share simple aftercare instructions and your next session date.

Fading Timeline – What to Expect

  • After 1–2 Sessions:

Early lightening; lines may look softer and colour slightly faded.

  • After 3–5 Sessions:

Noticeable fading; many tattoos look 50–70% lighter. Good stage for cover-up planning.

  • After 6+ Sessions:

For most tattoos, the design becomes very faint or nearly invisible. The total number of sessions depends on colour, depth, and age.

Note: Most simple black tattoos need ~4–8 sessions; denser or multi-colour tattoos may require more. Sessions are typically spaced 6–8 weeks apart.

Reel Customers - Real Testimonials

  • “I had my ex’s name on my wrist for years and it always bothered me. After a few sessions at Opal, it’s faded so much you can barely see it. The team was kind, non-judgmental and explained every step. I finally feel free of that reminder.”

    Sonia Mehta, 28

  • “I was worried because my skin is on the darker side, but the dermatologist adjusted the laser carefully. My old ankle tattoo is now almost gone and there’s no scarring or patchiness. The clinic feels luxurious but very clinical and safe.”

    Fatima Khan, 33

  • “My lower back tattoo had become blurry and ugly over time. Tattoo removal at Opal was quicker than I expected and the discomfort was totally manageable with numbing. After 6 sessions, it’s practically invisible and my skin looks smooth.”

FAQs

  • Yes, when the right laser and settings are used. At Opal, we customise parameters for Indian skin tones to minimise burns or pigmentation changes.

  • Most women say it feels like a fast rubber band snap on the skin. It’s usually shorter and more tolerable than getting the tattoo, especially with numbing and cooling.

  • It depends on size, colour, age and depth of the tattoo. Simple black tattoos may need around 4–8 sessions; dense or multi-colour tattoos can take more. We’ll estimate after seeing it in person.

  • In most cases, no. With proper settings and aftercare, scarring or white patches are rare. If the original tattoo already had scarring, that texture may remain.

  • Avoid hot showers, saunas, swimming, scratching, and direct sun on the area until it heals. Keep it clean, moisturised as advised, and use sunscreen once the skin has recovered.
