Before Your Jordi Shape Session (Pre-Treatment Care)
Skip Caffeine & Alcohol: For at least 24 hours before your appointment, avoid drinking alcohol or caffeine (coffee, energy drinks, cola) . These substances can dehydrate you and might constrict blood vessels, reducing the efficacy of the treatment. Arrive to your session well-hydrated by drinking water and herbal teas instead. (Bonus: being hydrated also improves the conduction of RF energy into your tissues .)
Meal Prep – Light and Healthy: It’s a good idea to eat a light meal a couple of hours prior to treatment so you’re not hungry during the session, but avoid heavy or high-fat meals immediately beforehand . Avoid Active Sun Exposure: Protect the areas to be treated from sun exposure for a week or two before your session. In particular, do not get a fresh tan or sunburn on those areas . Tanned or sunburned skin can be more sensitive to heat; RF treatment on sun-damaged skin could risk uneven pigmentation or burns. If you’ve been in the sun, use SPF 30+ and notify us – we may delay treatment on recently sunburnt skin until it heals.
Dress Comfortably: Wear or bring comfortable, loose clothing to your appointment. You’ll be undressing the areas we’re treating (for example, your thighs, buttocks, abdomen, arms), so choose easy-on/off garments. After the session, your skin might be pink and warm, so you won’t want super tight jeans or waistbands pressing on it. Soft yoga pants, a loose dress, or sweats are great choices. We also suggest removing any jewelry on or near the treatment area (for instance, belly piercings) before the session starts, as we’ll be using a radiofrequency device.
After Your Jordi Shape Session (Post-Treatment Care)

Red Flags – When to Contact the Clinic

It’s normal to have some redness, mild soreness, or minor bruising as described above – these should all be temporary. However, it’s important to be aware of uncommon reactions. Please reach out to Dr. Punit’s team if you experience any of the following:
Severe Pain: The treatment itself is usually comfortable (many say it feels like a deep tissue warm massage) and post-treatment you might feel a bit tender or sore in areas like you’d feel after a massage. If you have intense pain during or after the treatment that does not subside, that’s not normal and we want to know. For instance, if a treated area is extremely painful to touch or you feel sharp, burning pain hours later, contact us. This could indicate an atypical reaction or tissue injury and needs assessment.
Skin Burns or Blistering: RF energy heats the tissue, but it is carefully controlled to avoid burns. If you notice any blister forming on the treated skin or a patch of skin that looks charred or like a burn, stop applying anything to it and call us immediately. While rare, a superficial burn could occur if the RF settings react with your skin in an unexpected way. We will provide instructions for care and may need to see you to treat the area. (A minor redness that looks like a sunburn is normal – we are concerned about actual blistering or skin peeling.)
Excessive or Spreading Redness: It’s normal for the treated zone to be reddish right after the session, but this should concentrate in the area we worked on and calm down over hours. If the redness spreads beyond the treatment area, gets worse instead of better over time, or is accompanied by swelling and warmth, it could indicate an unusual inflammatory response or infection. Please inform us if the redness is worsening the next day or covering a much larger area than treated.
Allergic Reaction (Rash or Hives): All the components of Jordi Shape (RF, vacuum, LED) are mechanical/energy-based, but we do use contact gels or oils during treatment. It’s very uncommon, but if you happen to be allergic to a gel or something used, you might develop a rash, hives (itchy bumps), or persistent itching on the treated area. If you see a rash developing post-treatment, let us know so we can advise on appropriate antihistamines or creams and avoid that product next time.
Unusual Lumps or Nodules: The vacuum and RF should not typically cause any lumps – in fact, they usually improve lumps by smoothing out tissues. However, if you notice any firm knots under the skin or a lumpy area that wasn’t there before, bring it to our attention. This could be a rare fibrosis or a swollen lymph node. Systemic Symptoms: Treatments like these generally don’t cause whole-body symptoms. If you experience something like fever, nausea, dizziness, or anything out of the ordinary after treatment, please contact us. It’s likely unrelated (coincidental illness), but we would like to be aware and ensure everything is okay.
